A setting of three poems that have in common the regeneration of the human spirit after devastation and loss: Anna Akhmatova in 1921 in Saint Petersburg after the Revolution, Kathleen Raine in London in the early 1940s during the blitz, and Elizabeth Riddell in Australia also in World War II.
