Instrumentation: 4 flutes (3rd doubling piccolo, 4th doubling alto flute), 3 oboes, cor anglais, 2 clarinets in B flat (1st doubling clarinet in A), clarinet in E flat, clarinet in B flat doubling bass clarinet, 3 bassoons, contra-bassoon, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (4 players), 11 handbells, harp, strings.
