Work Overview
A short musical feature by Australian composer Ros Bandt, journeying between virtual communities and obsolete technologies. The artist makes an investigation of the actual, the usable, the used, the discarded, the hoped-for and the future. As a superseded Image-writer printer is transformed into a bowed cello, and the sounds of a 1920 Underwood typewriter become the vehicle of communication in a letter to the artist's deceased mother. Are we real? What is real? Will we be real in the future? Is this work real? Are you really listening? Are you really there?
