Work Overview
A feature concerning an important Aboriginal burial site and the pressures of local development. In May 1998, an Aboriginal skeleton was discovered partly exposed in the sand dune after a big storm at Sandon Point in the Illawarra region of NSW. It has been called Kuradji, 'clever fella', by indigenous elders and the burial site is some 6000 years old. However, the site is being commercially developed. This radio feature explores the conflict. Music performed by Peter Button and Bud Kennedy, with the voices of many speakers.
