Work Overview
Commissioned by Stichting Orgelpark in 2011, the piece, initially for solo organ, was arranged for duo X88 to explore the binaural sensation experienced when two pianos positioned at different angles play within a similar register.
The title of the piece is derived from an age-old story that speaks of the union between the body and soul. The body made of earth became a refuge for the soul so that it could experience the sensation of hearing the harmony of the universe.
One wonders whether the reason for the life of a body is so that the soul within can hear the music.
