A romantic guitar concertino with abundent use of odd rythmic changes [e.g. 3/4, 5/8, 2/4, 3/8 etc] from the middle section i.e. Vivace con Brio in bars 126 -264.

Instrumentation: Solo classical guitar, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 2 trumpets in B flat, 2 trombones, bass trombone, timpani, percussion, strings.

This piece was originally scored for classic guitar, string quartet, bass and piano. In 1979 it was rescored for a larger 30-piece orchestra and incorporated as In the Sea Depths for Act I of the ballet Vania and the Water Sprite. In 2004, it was revised and rescored for guitar and symphony orchestra.

Recorded in 1978 for the documentary at the Albert Studios Sydney with guitarist Raffaele Agostino.
