Work Overview

Bielbah: Double Helix. Two sung stories wind around each other, separated by two hundred years, but genetically bound. In one, the King of England (and Australia) arrives to officially open Parliament. Bielbah plots to assassinate him and thus change things forever for his people. It is 2057.

In the other, Bielbah convinces his followers to attack the homestead of invading sheep farmers in Central Queensland before it is too late, as their only way to resist annihilation. It is 1857.

Bielbah: Double Helix asks: What is a terrorist? Who are our heroes? Who chose them and why? What is un-Australian? What history is remembered? Where is Bielbah's statue?
