Work Overview

In writing this piece I aimed to capture a certain rawness of sound, something earthy, unrefined, elemental - a basic, primitive style of music. I wanted to find instruments that could in some way pay tribute to the products of earth and decided to make the collecting of these instruments a part of the creative process. After a lengthy time auditioning various found instruments, I was able to assemble some of these sounds which are derived from the materials clay, metal, china and glass.
