Work Overview
'Through The Window' features as one of the main arias in Charody's operatic musical Morning Blossoms.
It is the story told by school teacher Osamu (lead character in 'Morning Blossoms') of how the children in his care were swept to sea when the violent tsunami of 2011 hit his school in Japan. Having witnessed the devastation caused by the bomb that dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 when he was just a boy, his inner struggle made him numb with fear when this second disaster struck. As a result, Osamu was unable to help the children and they all perished. This is the song Osamu sings to the parents of the missing children whom are frantically searching for answers.
