Work Overview
The piece encompasses triumphal fanfares and sorrowful melodies, emulating the Australian way of life in times of devastation and the way camaraderie in communities help us to come together and help one another. The last regal theme portrays the courage and positive attitude we as Australians are committed to in having things return to normal and better outcomes for all.
Australian conductor / composer Greg Butcher was commissioned to compose an original work which was to be premiered on a Europe Tour in 2020 with Epping Boys and Cheltenham Girls High School, however was all postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The work, Australis Ambusti, was written about the 2019/2020 bush fires.
