Work Overview

I wrote this piece after my visit to Barcelona in October 2018, inspired by the city and the amazing work of Antoni Gaudí. I have represented three iconic architectural marvels in three movements: Casa Batlló, La Sagrada Família, and Parc Güell.

While writing this piece, with fresh memories of Barcelona, I had imagines of Antoni Gaudí taking Gustav Mahler around the city showing him his work, finishing the day drinking hot coffee at the top of Casa Batlló. The slowly unravelling 1st and 2nd movements are reminiscent of Mahler's symphonies, especially his slow movements.
