Work Overview

I have composed about a dozen of pieces that have been commissioned by and premiered at the Cithara Aediculae international guitar festival in Nitra, Slovakia by Ján Labant either as a soloist or with other renowned instrumentalists, vocalists, myself, or with orchestras.

For the 33rd year of the festival in 2016, I wanted to write something simple, calm and reflective. To me, Jan is one of the world's greatest guitar players, with incredibly lyrical and sensitive interpretive qualities of playing. I know that when I write a piece of this nature for Jan, he will always bring out all the 'hidden beauties' from the score and turn the notes into a wonderful story that captures audiences no matter where he plays.

The title of the piece suggests that there might not be another opportunity for me to write for this festival, as its future remains uncertain and this could indeed be One Last Time I have written for it.
