Work Overview

The interior spaces of an ancient ram's horn are expanded through multiple electro-acoustic transformation, including granulation using mammoth software, pitch shifting, equalisation and multi-tracking. A sonic bed is provided for the cross cultural tarhu, a bowed spike fiddle invented in Australia by luthier Peter Biffin www.spikefiddle. The live performance overlay contacts and enlivens the horn particles expressing the desperate flight of the dispossessed Jewish culture over millennia.

Composed with Gabriel Negrin Shofar, TEI Electronic Studios Rethymnon, Crete.
