Product details

From award-winning NZ/Australian composer and sound artist Miriama Young: a musical reflection on our planet habitat as it has been shaped by human activity in the Anthropocene Age.This Earthly Round reflects on our planet habitat as it has been shaped by human activity in the Anthropocene.

This album includes the fragile, vulnerable soundscapes of Australasia (extinct birds in 'Grey Ghost', and endangered fauna of Australia in 'Borderlands Biophony'); and reacts to the devastating effects of climate change in 'This Earthly Round', then turns inwards with 'Inner' to reflect magnified shifts in human emotional experience. The album opens with geo-political interventions in 'Snapdragon', a personal response to the American military invasion of Iraq.
