Sheet Music: ScoreFiligrees III : for piano / Gerald Glynn.by Gerald Glynn (1990)
|
Product details
The third piece of the Filigrees series continues and develops the techniques that were employed in the first two - each and every motif is subject to repetition and variation; sometimes there is a process of dismantling, before the re-assembly of components occurs; an arpeggio presented as a rapid linear flourish will alternate with its "solid" chordal variant, and for the first time in the Filigrees series, there is a direct reference, a homage to Chopin's first Etude (op. 10 n° 1), when an arpeggio figure appears in the right hand and is, in turn, subject to "filigreed" treatment. Filigrees 3 also explores, more extensively, the combination of melodic figures in the high treble, over a very low pedal.
