Product details

Dracula, an opera in 3 acts, is a serious treatment of the essential scenes from the original Bram Stoker novel. The 8 voice types required are high soprano, soprano, mezzo-soprano, 2 tenors, 2 baritones and bass (or bass-baritone).

There is a version with full orchestra, and a chamber version with 10-piece ensemble.
The orchestral writing is virtuosic for all instruments. The musical style is easy to understand, often romantic and lyrical, yet containing many dissonant sections closely connected with the stage events. I consider this opera to be my most important work.
