Product details
This aria comes from my opera "Draupadi", the first in the incomplete cycle of three operas on the Indian epic, "Mahabharata". In the aria Draupadi watches the great warrior Arjuna, who is one of her husbands, confront her enemies the Kauravas. Arjuna's chariot is driven by Krishna. She exults that the revenge she has waited for so long is about to be accomplished. Then she sees Arjuna throw his weapons down and tell Krishna to stop. Krishna gives Arjuna the "Bhagavad Gita" but Draupadi cannot hear it. She despairs.
