Award-winning Australian composer Anne Cawrse writes music that is beguilingly beautiful, profoundly telling, lush and ecstatic.
Her uncanny ability to find the music hidden within and around words has led her to seek out poetry by women from across the centuries with a message that speaks directly to us today.
In 2019, recognising that Award-winning Australian composer Anne Cawrse's extensive catalogue needed to be made more widely available, the South Australian Government provided funding for this recording of works for strings, voice and guitar. The album features acclaimed cello and guitar duo Sharon and Slava Grigoryan, the glorious warmth of soprano Bethany Hill, ARIA-nominated guitarist Aleksandr Tsiboulski and the Australian String Quartet.
Infused with joy and a lightness of spirit, this album celebrates the rediscovery of ourselves and the things we hold most precious.
