Product details
A Lenten Cantata was co-commissioned by St James' Old Cathedral and The Consort of Melbourne, and was originally scored for organ and three-part string accompaniment. The orchestrated version of the cantata was completed in 2020. The work draws heavily on Wesley's hymn 'Jesu, lover of my soul' and its accompanying tune 'Aberystwyth' by Parry. Additional text comes from Psalm 55:16-17, 22, and Matthew 11:28.
