Event Details

London-based Australian pianist Zubin Kanga presents two dynamic recitals featuring an exhilarating assortment of new solo piano works composed for Zubin by Australian composers; Rosalind Page, David Young, Marcus Whale, Anthony Moles, Andrew Harrison and Jane Stanley as well as British composer Michael Finnissy's new work, Z/K. Drawing on an eclectic variety of styles and inspirations from across the musical spectrum, the program will take audiences beyond 88 keys as Zubin challenges the sonic, theatrical and virtuosic conventions of the traditional piano recital. Winner of the NSW State Award (Performance of the Year) at the 2012 Art Music Awards and the prestigious Michael Kieran Harvey Scholarship, Zubin Kanga has gained international recognition as one of the most sought after young performers of contemporary classical music.

Featured non-Australian music: Z/K by Michael Finnissy
