Event Details
Karina Canellakis is a dynamic young conductor going places. Winner of the 2016 Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, she has been praised for her emotionally charged performances and interpretive depth. Making her debut with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, she conducts a variety of works, including one of the peaks of the Romantic repertoire, Mendelssohn’s spirited Italian Symphony.
Another highlight is Elena Kats-Chernin’s freshly minted Piano Concerto No 3. Tamara-Anna Cislowska, Kats-Chernin’s most inspired and trusted interpreter, performs the stunning solo part.
