Event Details
Traversing the Void - a pocket chamber opera written by Icelandic composer Hildigunnur Runarsdottir with librettist Josephine Truman (45 mins) with themes about the Blue Mountains as perceived through the eyes of a wild cockatoo.
Blue Mountains Suite - in three movements. 1. Mountains Ablaze. 2. Lament for the Joeys.3. Rain on a Tin Roof by Rebecca Daniel (Director and First Violin of Kanimbla Quartet.)
Performance of three choral pieces - 'Gluna', 'Psalm 150' and 'Vorlauf' by Hildigunnur Runarsdottir, ‘Gloria’ by Penelope Thwaites (from Missa Brevis) and ‘Requiem, by Eliza Gilkyson performed by SCUNA.
This concert is supported by The Blue Mts City of the Arts Trust Fund,the Australia Council of the Arts,STEF (Iceland) and Tomanelli inc.
