Event Details
Our 2013 festival opens with a bang – the first ever performance by a symphony orchestra in Kangaroo Valley! We are thrilled that this concert will contain John Antill’s Corroboree, an orchestral ballet from 1946, and the first serious Australian orchestral work that was inspired by a corroboree. It will be paired with Stravinsky’s ballet The Rite of Spring, an orchestral tour de force and one of the most influential works from the 20th century.
Featured non-Australian music: Stravinsky
