Event Details

Composer Max Richter described re-composing Vivaldi’s masterpiece as "throwing molecules of the original Vivaldi into a test tube with a bunch of other things, and waiting for an explosion". The Bourbaki Ensemble are proud to present this new and vibrant reworking of a classic, which has recently topped the itunes classical charts around the World.

Also on the program is Reponse Lutoslawski by Bryce Dessner, better known as the guitarist from US art-rock band ‘The National’. Dessner wrote this piece for string ensemble as a response to Lutoslawski’s funeral music, which the Bourbaki Ensemble performed earlier this year. Completing the show is Night Song by Australian legendary composer Peter Sculthorpe.

Performers: The Bourbaki Ensemble David Angell, conductor Warwick Pulley, violin

Featured non-Australian music: Max Richter - The Four Seasons Recomposed; Bryce Dessner - Reponse Lutoslawski (Australian premiere)
