Event Details
The concert begins with the premiere of Symphony No. 3 by Australian composer Larry Sitsky. Czech-Australian pianist Suzanna Hlinka then performs Prokofiev's 1st Piano Concerto. After interval, the QYS strings perform the beautiful Adagietto movement from Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5, made famous in the 1971 film Death in Venice, before the full orchestra performs Dmitri Shostakovich's capricious Sixth Symphony.
