A Performance For Our Planet - Music and nature in perfect harmony.

Our Western Australian landscape is one to celebrate. As well as our achievements in helping the environment for the future! On this night we will come together in a musical journey through these accolades.

This concert will feature our Perth Chamber Orchestra musicians playing a range of pieces inspired by nature from Dvorak to Rutter. The program also includes stunning works from WA’s own Iain Grandage and John Butler.

But this isn’t just your average listening experience; we dive head-first into nature with a collection of footage and soundscapes captured from all over Western Australia which will be played during the concert. The Town Hall itself will also be immersed in nature with native plants surrounding the audience, the evocative scent of eucalyptus gently wafting throughout and as you look up, a spectacular “starry sky”.

In addition to this we are welcoming leading experts from WA based organisations to guide you in 5-minute informative presentations on the positive actions we are using to help the following themes: ‘Thriving Oceans’, ‘Drought Mitigation’, ‘Renewable Energy’, and ‘Protecting Biodiversity’. Perth Symphony’s Founder and CEO, Bourby Webster, expressed her enthusiasm by stating:

“These experts will share their ground-breaking work, give facts, figures and insights into how Western Australia is leading the way in these areas. Each conversation will be followed by inspiring pieces of music on the four themes performed by Perth Chamber Orchestra and soloists, conducted by Jessica Gethin.”

If you’re in need of a tasty beverage before we sit down to take in the majesty of our planet why not enjoy a gin Supplied by Sin Gin, distilled using local WA botanicals.

Here at Perth Symphony we are passionate about keeping this planet spinning for future generations to come, our State in particular! Come for an evening to celebrate the good things happening in W.A. to keep our stunning state healthy for our children and theirs to come.

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world”

– Desmond Tu Tu
