The Intermedia concert installation Polar Force , conceived by Eugene Ughetti, deals with the beauty, unbelievable breadth, fragility and unique complexity of Antarctica. The performance conveys a multi-layered, different sensory organ appealing experience of immersive immersion in a work of art. A white, inflatable construction not unlike a tunnel-shaped igloo was developed for this performance. It offers space for about 80 people. Special instruments have been specifically designed to manipulate sounds of ice, water and compressed air that mingle with highly differentiated Antarctic field recordings. Polar Forceexamines our relationship to the natural world. From the perspective of the coldest, windiest and driest continent of the world, questions are raised about the fragility and isolation of human civilization.
