Across two evenings Sidetrack Theatre will play host to Now You Are Safe From Them – a new, site-specific collaboration bringing together improvised dance, sound design and visual projection from four of Sydney's most prolific artists in their respective fields – Marcus Whale (vocalist / producer – Collarbones, Scissor Lock), dance duo Caterina Mocciola and Ashley Macqueen (choreographers / co-founders – Sydney Sunday Jam, Momentum In Sydney) and Jonathon Watts (sound design / visual projectionist – Time Machine Festival, Goodgod Small Club, The Red Rattler).

Featuring a live accordion and wind ensemble including directors and contributors to leading new-music organisation The Now Now (John Wilton, Jeremy Tatar, Russell Phillips, Lachlan Hughes), Now You Are Safe From Them will take one of the best-known forms of modern dance – contact improvisation – and set it to a score manipulating pure sine tones and the human voice. Utilising Sidetrack's entire interior to create a real-time visual interplay between dancers' movements and their projected form, audiences will be taken through an immersive multimedia journey from disorientation to re-connection, inspired by and evoking our intrinsic drive to find a home.
