Three brilliantly talented musicians unite in this exciting new ensemble. Frenchman Nicolas Fleurys beautiful tone is most often heard in his role as Principal Horn, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. London-based violinist Emily Sun won the 2018 ABC Young Performer of the Year and UK Royal Overseas League Commonwealth Musician of the Year, performing at Buckhingham Palace, Wigmore Hall and Tchaikovsky Great Hall in Moscow. Amir Farids versatile piano career includes recent roles in New York with the NY Philharmonic and Juilliard.

The program opens with Mozart’s Horn Trio, adapted from his Horn Quintet which has been described as a mini horn concerto. Then one of Ysaÿe’s virtuosic sonatas, inspired by Bach’s but cast in a 20th Century idiom. Next, a new work by Gordon Kerry, one of Australia’s most accomplished composers. Then Chopin’s third Ballade, amongst the most popular works in the Romantic piano repertoire. Finally Brahms’ Horn Trio, written to commemorate the death of his mother, is one of those large-scale dramatic works employing smaller performing forces by which Brahms transformed the concept of chamber music.
