Event Details

"Sheldon was superb, with a voice of penetrating beauty, precision and variegated colours..." -- Sydney Morning Herald, 2009 nternationally renowned soprano Jane Sheldon and pianist Nicole Panizza will launch the duo's debut album, Nature, with a concert presented by the J.M. Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice at Adelaide's Elder Hall. Nature features music by New World composers Aaron Copland, Nigel Butterley, Ross Edwards and Peggy Glanville-Hicks, accompanied by the words of New World poets Emily Dickinson, Judith Wright, Wallace Stevens and Walt Whitman. Nature also follows the success of Sheldon's last album, North + South, nominated for the 2013 ARIA for Best Classical Album. The concert will immerse audiences in the sublime musicality of Sheldon and Panizza, with a discussion to follow entitled Sonic Landscapes of the New World, led by leading Australian composer Graeme Koehne whose work will also be featured in the concert.
