Event Details
Experience an exciting take on the 300-year-old tradition of the string quartet, handmade but decidedly modern (much like crafted gin!), as Musica Viva Sessions makes its Adelaide debut with award-winning string ensemble, Zephyr Quartet. Grab a G&T on arrival, courtesy of Prohibition Liquor Co, before joining the musicians as they explore the current landscape of modern classical music - all in the surrounds of an urban gin distillery. Mixing up a program of string works by contemporary master Philip Glass, indie polymath Jherek Bischoff, Australian composer Kate Moore and some of the players’ own works, Zephyr shares its distinct musical world.
Performers: Zephyr Quartet - Belinda Gehlert, Emily Tulloch, Jason Thomas, Hilary Kleinig
Featured non-Australian music: Philip Glass, String Quartet no.2 ‘Company’
