MSO's regional tour program features a new orchestral work by the Australian composer Natalie Williams.
The composer writes:
"Replica, is an acoustic, sonic depiction of the properties of echo in the natural world. The work explores the nature of echoes and replicated sounds (reverberation, refracted sounds) and how these can be depicted acoustically with a full orchestra. My intention was to replicate echo techniques in the piece that would not normally be available within a standard concert hall, without the aid of electronic sound manipulation."
Slava Grigoryan, one of the nation’s favourite soloists, takes centre stage for the most popular classical work ever written for guitar, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.
Featured non-Australian music: Beethoven, Rodrigo
