Event Details
The 2014 MPavilion has been designed by Australian architect Sean Godsell. It's a new kind of clubhouse—a meeting place and a starting point from which to explore a free four-month program of talks, workshops, performances and installations from October to February.
Renowned Australian harpist Marshall McGuire performs on both modern and baroque harps in this intimate performance, as part of Melbourne Festival. In addition to performing and recording as a soloist with chamber and symphony orchestras, Marshall has commissioned and premiered more than 100 new works for harp, and has been a curator and artistic director of many new music and baroque ensemble projects. For this lunchtime recital, he will perform works by Mudarra, Frescobaldi, Bach and Handel, plus works by Australian composers Elena Kats-Chernin and Peggy Glanville-Hicks.
Featured non-Australian music: Mudarra, Frescobaldi, Bach, Handel
