Event Details
A feast for lovers of Handel and an uplifting end to our musical year.
When MCO Artistic Director William Hennessy and Polyphonic Voices Director Michael Fulcher came together to plan the next instalment in their collaboration, Handel’s exhilarating Dixit Dominus was right at the top of the list. With its vigorous orchestral writing and ornate, virtuosic vocal score, this thrilling Baroque landmark is rarely performed professionally in Australia. It’s a spectacle not to be missed.
Adorning the centrepiece, a concerto by Handel, Corelli’s Christmas concerto, the premiere season of Melbourne composer Matthew Laing’s Pantomime and a delicious Poulenc transcription.
