Event Details
Pianist Matt McMahon and Guitarist Carl Dewhurst have joined forces to produce a new album of duets - “Trapeze For Two Atoms”. The album covers a wide range of musical forms - original pieces, traditional Irish tunes, free improvisation and a jazz standard.
At it’s heart, though, this is the simply the music of two friends with years of experience improvising together. The project began with a one-off duo performance for a house concert run by Carl’s old primary school music teacher! This association with the early years of music-making gave Matt and Carl a chance to delve into their past, playing some of their early original compositions, folk songs and standards.
On the subsequently released album ,“Trapeze For Two Atoms”, you can hear these two fabulous musicians listen and follow each other, weaving melodies and harmonies together in a way that reveals a musical language unique to themselves and their shared experience.
Note: tickets for these live events are very limited - book well ahead to avoid disappointment.
