Mark’s solo piano extemporisations are uplifting outpourings of pure melody and raw energy that draw on classical, jazz, grooves, and folkloric traditions, all masterfully shaped by the fertile creative mind of one of Australia’s most acclaimed composers and jazz musicians. He is a masterful musician, both as a classical composer and performer and a jazz improviser. This show will be a prelude to his performance the next day at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival
Mark has very generously offered to perform for free, to cover some of our ongoing costs (we give 100% of all the money to the musicians, so anything we spend on live streams or posters or on-line ads or having a bank account or sharing snacks comes out of our own pockets).
We'll still be streaming if you are staying home (or across a border), but we'd love to see you in Annandale to celebrate another year where music has stayed alive.
