Event Details
Iain Grandage’s Blackwood is an intimate and euphoric meditation inspired by the landscape of Western Australia. This world premiere is performed by our beloved Sara Macliver and two of our finest musicians against the backdrop of Brendan Darby’s painting of the Blackwood River. Life journeys are mirrored in and reflected by the river’s course, as Grandage’s music and Kevin Gillam’s evocative poetry drift gently downstream.
Perth’s newest contemporary ensemble Etica then present Dances by famed Dutch composer Louis Andriessen. Revealing the innermost thoughts, anguish and longing of Pharaoh Sekhet‐a‐Ra, Andriessen’s music is moving, rapt and rapturous.
