Event Details
The Chordwainers, Tasmania’s renowned leather music ensemble, have gathered local classical, jazz and folk musicians to play one-of-a-kind instruments by Tasmanian artist, Garry Greenwood, for Junction Arts Festival 2010. The 35 instruments used in the Tasmanian Leather Orchestra are drawn from private collections and the unique public collection of Launceston's Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. Included are a fascinating selection of sculptural horns and drums, the exquisite Tasmanian Mountain Harps, charming ocarina-like Pocopods, and Windform, a spectacular giant leather horn. Lunchtime concerts highlight the Tasmanian Mountain Harps and Windform.
