Event Details
Ironwood presents Tim Dargaville's The Book of Memory and Forgetting. The Book of Memory and Forgetting is an evocative remembrance ritual for string quartet and historic keyboards that explores the expressive nature of loss and disappearance. Inspired by the ritual of Tibetan Buddhist dissolution ceremony, this work also draws from the composer’s experience of caring for his mother Rosemary as she travelled through the challenging landscape of dementia. Ironwood string quartet and pianist Neal Peres Da Costa will present music from this project, including new pieces created as part of Tim Dargaville’s 2019 Prelude Composer Residency supported by the Bundanon Trust and National Trust of NSW.
Come support this concert which raises funds for Dementia Australia.
