Event Details
If...is largely built around Australian songs. The repertoire literally span two hundred years from the 1830s - with two songs by the Colonial composer, Nathan Isaac - through to works by Carl Vine, Gordon Kerry and Alice Chance. Group members Susie Bishop and Jenny Eriksson have also written pieces and lutenist Tommie Andersson has been active in making some superb arrangements. Although The Marais Project typically performs music of the French, since their founding 20 years ago they have always commissioned and performed Australian music. Following on from this performance the group heads into the recording studio.
Featured non-Australian music: Michael Nyman
