PRESENTED BY ADELAIDE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IN ASSOCIATION WITH ADELAIDE FESTIVAL CENTRE'S GUITAR FESTIVAL

Join us this August and be part of a very special classical collaboration between the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Adelaide Festival Centre’s Guitar Festival that celebrates the sounds of Spain and boasts a World Premiere.

The ASO’s Composer in Association, Cathy Milliken, renowned for her great musical imagination, was commissioned to create a piece especially for this opening night festival gala. The audience will be the first to hear DACCORD - performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra with one of Australia’s leading conductors, Benjamin Northey, joined by renowned Russian guitarist, Vladimir Gorbach, and London-based Australian soprano, Jessica Aszodi.

The other two magnificent pieces on the program will transport you from your seat at the Festival Theatre to the romantic past of rural Spain. The first, Da Falla’s The Three Cornered Hat Suite performed by Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. The second, Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal, performed by the world famous Beijing Guitar Duo.
