Written by female composers during their twenties, the string quartets Flinders Quartet have programmed in this concert dazzle with the unique brilliance that is so prevalent in composers at the beginnings of their careers. Joining Flinders Quartet for Shostakovich’s Octet Op.11 are rising stars Cousin Quartet; winners of Musica Viva’s inaugural Strike A Chord championship and the Flinders Quartet Mentorship Prize.
