Event Details

Join The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and special guests for the first full performance of world-class composer Dr Allan Zavod’s Environmental Symphony. Victoria’s premier concert venue, the Hamer Hall, will host the inspirational live event with an 80 strong orchestra, performing to synchronised visuals and narration by Australian film legend Jack Thompson, in what will be a tribute to Allan Zavod’s genius.

In addition, patrons will enjoy Rachmaninoff’s spectacular Symphonic Dances, which Allan Zavod has selected to accompany his symphony. Dr Zavod is currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer. He has requested that 100% of the proceeds from the performance be donated to the world-leading brain cancer research of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Neuroscience Foundation.

The event, on Sunday 20 December, will be opened by Melbourne entertainment icon Bert Newton, with special guests paying tribute to Dr Allan Zavod for his contribution to music around the world. This special event will not be repeated and is not to be missed. Visit the bookings page for more details.

Featured non-Australian music: Rachmaninoff
