Join Ensemble Trivium on an exhilarating journey of thrilling, sensual and uplifting chamber music with compositions from some of the 20th century’s most influential composers and a world premiere by Brisbane’s Thomas Green.
The concert opens with Nino Rota’s Trio for flute, violin and piano—a wonderful work full of intensity and lyricism. Rota is best known for his many film scores winning an Academy Award for Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather II.
Following on, you’re in for a treat with the deeply sensual and beautiful Sonata for violin and piano by Margaret Sutherland, arguably the first great compositional voice of modern Australia.
Erwin Schulhoff’s shimmering and virtuosic Sonata for flute and piano will make your spirits soar before the concert concludes with Thomas Green’s Trio ‘Queen’s Gambit’, commissioned especially for this concert.
An evening not to be missed!
