Event Details
As Australia’s leading new music ensemble, ELISION has established an international reputation for delivering authoritative and virtuosic interpretations of complex and unusual aesthetics. In 2014, ELISION will perform two rare Sydney concerts at Carriageworks, including three world premieres.
Tues 18 Mar will include works by Liza Lim, Timothy McCormack, Aaron Cassidy, Matthew Sergeant and Richard Barrett, conducted by Carl Rosman.
On Wed 19 Mar a second concert will feature the work of Dmitri Kourliandski, Ann Cleare, Luke Paulding, Timothy O’Dwyer and Richard Barrett.
Both performances represent a younger generation of composers for whom sound is a living force to be choreographed and sculpted. Exhilarating and rich in ideas, these explorations affirm the immediacy and richness of music as a contemporary language.
Featured non-Australian music: Timothy McCormack, Aaron Cassidy, Matthew Sergeant, Richard Barrett, Dmitri Kourliandski, Ann Cleare
