Anne Cawrse Sacred and Profane (world premiere)
Mozart Flute Concerto in D K.314
Dvorak Symphony No.9, From the New World
Two time-honoured orchestral masterpieces share this concert with an exciting new work by Adelaide composer Anne Cawrse. Mozart’s sprightly and tender flute concerto provides a charming foil to the breadth and majesty of Dvořák’s beloved ‘New World’ symphony.
Followed by REMEMBERING MAX - New Music Collective & Luke Dollman - Conductor
A free concert dedicated to the life and music of Peter Maxwell Davies (1934-2016). 'Max' as he was known, was appointed Master of the Queen's Music in 2004, having formerly been Composer in Residence at Elder Conservatorium from 1965-1966. (Remembering Max will begin following a 25 minute interval at the conclusion of the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra performance.)
