Duo Chamber Melange is a wonderful partnership between internationally acclaimed musicians Ivana Tomaskova (violin) and Tamara Smolyar (piano). Collaborators for more than 20 years, Ivana and Tamara’s exquisite musical bond and masterful technique represent the true art of music-making.
About this concert
Celebrate the beauty of spring with Duo Chamber Melange and a vibrant musical bouquet. Dvořák’s zippy Sonatina shows his Bohemian roots and the budding influence of life in New York. The lively and teasing melodies of Australian composer Margaret Sutherland’s rarely performed Sonatina are equally invigorating. The concert comes into full bloom with Franck’s exquisite Sonata, a favourite in the repertoire that bursts with poetic splendour.
