SIMA presents the Jazz:NOW Summer Festival featuring; Double Bill: Hilary Geddes Quartet + Nick Garbett's The Glider

Definitive contemporary music that flaunts Australia’s boundless creativity

In demand guitarist, Hilary Geddes recently took out the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellowship, the nation’s most prestigious creative jazz award.

Her quartet is beautifully synchronized to create unique sonic landscapes and expansive and uplifting music that’s reminiscent of the great Bill Frissell – with an elemental Australian flavor.

Coming off the back of Nick Garbett’s 2018 Freedman Jazz Fellowship win, and subsequent relocation to Italy, The Glider captures a period of travel, discovery, and reconnection between old friends. The result is an ambient and mesmerizing meditation on rhythm, layers, and texture.

This performance is a highlight of our Jazz: NOW Summer Festival.
