Hunter Singers and Hunter Trebles will join with special guests Nova Praetorians to present beautiful choral and recorder music from Bach to today. Hunter Singers is a vibrant community choir organisation based in Newcastle, Australia, dedicated to nurturing and developing young voices and promoting Australian choral music. In 2014, the Hunter Singers celebrated 25 years of exceptional music making, marking a history that includes a range of successful international tours, high-profile performances and significant commissioned works. The group comprises two ensembles, providing valuable musical opportunities for developing voices. The Hunter Singers features older students from government High Schools in the Hunter region, while members of the Hunter Trebles are drawn from local primary schools and junior high schools. Nova Praetorians is a Newcastle-based Early Music Recorder ensemble, formed in 2014. Members are: Sally Walker (Descant), Ruth Crosby (Treble), José De Doná (Tenor) and Christopher Allan (Bass). Their repertoire has a focal point on early works, particularly those of Praetorius, but extends to the late Baroque.
