Sydney trumpeter Paul Goodchild and organist Thomas Wilson will perform Classics Past & Present for Wyvern Music Forestville on 25 November 2012, featuring well-known trumpet tunes and exciting new pieces. The music ranges from 17th Century Italian and English to contemporary Australian and will include such favourites as Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Faure’s Pavane, Mendelssohn’s Overture to St Paul for solo organ and Vangelis’ Hymne.
Associate Principal Trumpet of the Sydney Symphony since 1985 and Musical Director of Sydney Brass, Paul Goodchild is widely regarded as one of Australia’s outstanding chamber musicians. Former Precentor of Westminster Cathedral in London, Thomas Wilson is Director of Music at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney and Artistic Director of the London International Choral Festival.
